Performance: Männer in Garagen 1

Heaps of performances last week to experiment and develop new ideas under the eyes of a relaxed audience (we say in German :).
Here photos of my 1st intervention. A 10 minute transformation from ‘Olaf from next door to Olaf the last Unicorn’ in Cora Frost’s  Garage, at the Festival ‘Männer in Garagen’.
Cora aka Browie, Julia aka Trotzki and Gerd aka Churchill were the coolest hosts! A down to earth and dirt garage! Thanks for glueing my freshly cut hair to the chest and caring all around, photos by Frances d’Ath.

– Yoga can be done separately from the Shibari part. Hours: 7-8.45 pm. Info here
– For the Shibari class you can but don’t need to bring a partner.
– If possible bring your own ropes and a yoga mat, if you don’t have any, we will provide them.
-Please also bring a collective snack for the pause.

1. Informal Try out Shibari/Yoga workshop at Arsenal Vienna

Japanese Bondage meets dance! The last hour of this workshop people are invited to watch us. How can restriction inspire movement or stillness? How adventures and inventive can we be with our bodies?

Shibari Yoga @ ImPulsTanz Festival

A short reminder: this week we will be teaching Shibari/Yoga in Vienna!

August 11th – 16th, 5– 8 pm. If you are around you can join for single days!
On Friday there will be an informal presentation with all workshop participants around 7 pm. On Saturday there will be a short performance with Frances, Florian and me at ‘Expressions 14’ at 4 pm in studio 1 .

Previous works

Unwort: Tardigrane

Ein Tardigrane oder Wasserbärchen ist ein Viehchen, das unter Extremumständen leben kann und ewig ohne Essen auskommt. Es überlebt jahrzehntlange Austrocknung, um sich dann doch wieder ins Leben zu transformieren und die Eier der Weibchen können sich zum Teil ohne männliche Befruchtung entwickeln. Für ‘Platanaceae, –a, – um’ habe ich eins  gebastelt. Schaumstoff aufgespannt, gefesselt, gebogen und zuletzt mit einem Tutu verziert, wodurch mein Bärchen eher einem deformierten Flugobjekt ähnelte. Frances schnitzte eine sprechende, tanzende Riesenkrabbe, und während ich mich immer mehr in diese Tierchen verliebe, erklärt Florian ‘Tardigrane’ zum Unwort des Jahres :)
