Angela and Jared are performing again three of their recent pieces. Its the French premier of Soon you are theirs / Remix–sacrifice: ‘What they are instead of’, ‘Is Maybei’ and ‘Le petites mortes’.
In the second part we will do ‘Untangle’ in the beautiful Halle Darwin, followed by a concert from Drone music.

Hinter Wohnblocks, am S-Bahnhof, am Stadtrand oder auf der Brache stehen sie: Garagen. Zu Zeilen aneinandergereiht führen sie eine urbane Randexistenz. Sie sind überall, nützlich für alles Mögliche und doch fast unsichtbar. Neben ihrer eigentlichen Bestimmung als Parkplatz dienen sie als bessere Keller, Werkstätten und Lagerräume, Büros, Ateliers oder Musikstudios, Labore, Partyräume und Gartenlauben. Abseits des Wohnraums und jenseits jedes Repräsentationsanspruchs kann hier ausgelebt werden, was in anderen Räumen nicht geduldet wird oder wofür sonst kein Platz ist. Gerade in Berlin, wo preiswerter innerstädtischer Raum immer knapper wird, sind Garagen begehrt wie nie zuvor.
„Frauen haben Hobbys, Männer Garagen.“ Als klischeebehaftete Orte wird in ihnen eine Bastion reaktionärer, betont heterosexueller Männlichkeit gesehen – Autos, Sport und Pin-Ups. Bei genauerer Betrachtung öffnen sich jedoch Welten: Garagen sind Treffpunkte für verschiedenste Menschen, sind Orte für Selbstverwirklichung und Improvisiertes, für Geheimnisse und Intimes – bis hin zur Illegalität. Doch was genau macht diese wenigen Quadratmeter so attraktiv? Sind sie die letzten Zufluchtsorte für Visionäres, Verbotenes und Freigeistiges?
Die Sophiensæle machen die Garage auf und präsentieren ein Performancefestival zwischen Klischees und neuen Perspektiven auf einen Kulturraum in Randlage!

This weekend we found nice changes for the dancing scene in ‘Sündenstadt’. Playing around with new material from ‘Jacobsen’, using the animal masks changed the club scene into a weird animalic tribal cat walk… A distorted sort of sexyness. The bird is my favorite!
Sweet and somewhat alive the wabbly beak when I dance, and strangly irritating eyes, deformed and alert ;)

Heaps of performances last week to experiment and develop new ideas under the eyes of a relaxed audience (we say in German :).
Here photos of my 1st intervention. A 10 minute transformation from ‘Olaf from next door to Olaf the last Unicorn’ in Cora Frost’s Garage, at the Festival ‘Männer in Garagen’.
