SHIBARI TECHNIQUE MORNING CLASSES September

Tuesdays : September 5, 12,26 2017
–> NO CLASS ON THE 19TH, I am teaching at EURIX XI
Hours: 10am-12am
Level: Intermediate
Costs: 20 Euro per person
10 class card 160 €
@ Uferhallen Kulturwerkstatt – Wedding. Uferstrasse 8,13357 Berlin. Entrance B6
Call this number in case the door is locked: 0174-3937049
We investigate traditional techniques at intermediate level. Most people attend weekly so that the topics can build progressively.
Starting with a dynamic warm up and demonstration, I give individual feedback as you are tying. Besides updating Shibari principals like friction, different versions of column ties, tatkate kote (box tie) and security aspects, it is an environment to meet new styles and rope philosophies. The material contains floor work, one rope play and half- or full suspension. More advanced riggers can develop ‘progressions’ and complex figures in the air step by step. If you like to share your latest trick you are welcome to throw in ideas.
My own teachers over the last ten years were: Kasumi Horai, Kamijoo Saki, Osada Steve, Arisue Go, Tamandua Ropë, Barkas or Kinoko.
Haus Sommer is a small dojo located in Uferhallen Kulturwerkstatt in Berlin-Wedding, with 7 suspension-points, bamboo suspension, dance floor, and a tea kitchen.
If you are a beginner and still want to participate, or if you have other questions please write to workshops(at)dasniyasommer.de
If You have previous experience you can drop in spontaneously. Please send a short message to +49 174 393 70 49.
KINBAKU STUDY GROUP WITH TAMANDUA

Highly recommending this study group at Haus Sommer!
Starting 2nd August 2017
Small group – room for 4 couples only!
This is a biweekly study group for students who already have some experience with kinbaku/shibari from workshops or private tuition. Students should have at least fundamental knowledge of suspension work. If you participated in the past terms regular study group this year this is a suitable continuation course!
As a rigger you will be learning more complicated patterns and shapes, have a bit more pressure to learn how to be able to be smooth, safe and quick as well as apply aquired knowledge to improvise and solve problems while tying. You will learn different ways of tying for and during suspension, both static and dynamic.
As a model/bottom you will learn how to manage a bit more intense ties both on the floor and in the air than during more basic level classes. You will also gain knowledge on active bottoming – to make the experience more pleasurable, safe and beautiful.
For this course you need to register in couples. If you are a rigger who can not come with the same partner each time you can still sign up as long as it is not a new partner each time. This is since I hope to see rope partners develope together – not just the riggers!
There will be 7 class opportunities during the term and you can sign up for 3 or 6 classes at a time.
Dates (every second wednesday 18.30-21.30)
Aug 2, 16, 30
Sep 13, 27
Oct 11, 25
For more info and to apply write to Tamandua or email Tamanduaengstrom@gmail.com
If you are new to shibari, he also teaches a beweekly workshop for beginner level in Moabit.
Hamlet at Xplore 2017

Freitag & Samstag 15.7.2017 um 20-21.30h beim Xplore Festival 2017
-> Alte Börse Marzahn
Produktion: Haus Sommer

This workshop is a shibari research group open to rope nerds and those who want to be :)
We investigate on traditional techniques at intermediate level, and develop it further. Most people attend weekly so the topics are building on another. Dropping in is fine with previous experience.
Besides updating shibari principals such as column ties and different versions of Tatkate Kote (box tie), it is an environment to investigate new patterns, principals and bondage philosophies. Which I studied at international workshops, and from working with rope artists for more than ten years. For example: Kasumi Horai, Kamijoo Saki, Osada Steve, Arisue Go, Tamandua Ropë, Barkas or Kinoko.
Mostly I demonstrate a harness or an idea and then give individual tips and tricks as you are tying. If you like to share your rope news you are welcome to throw it in.
The workshop starts with a short power warm-up and a single rope exercises. Continuing with floor work, half- or full suspension patterns. More advanced riggers can approach progressions and complex figures in the air step by step.

Unacknowledged Loss – Softcore
Last week helping Claudia Hill tying objects to her body. It was part of Barbara Raes project Unacknowledged Loss at Hau3.
I was very happy to do this spontaneously. Claudia wanted her ritual to evolve around family constellation, objects and restriction.
Workshop Kasumi Hourai
Tamandua tying me at Kasumi Hourai’s workshop in Paris. An exercise on how to stage rather painful shibari moments. Most caring coming down ever! :)
