Shibari Classes in July + August

Tuesday evening classes:
Intermediate level: 6pm – 8.15pm
Beginner level: 8.15pm – 10.15pm

Shibari classes in July will partially be replaced:

– July 2: 6pm intermediate, and 8.15pm beginner level by Kinbaku_boy (here mostly in ropes)

– July 9:  there is one class at 7pm for both intermediate + beginners by Clyo Rospy

– July 16 + 30: 6pm intermediate, and 8.15pm beginner level by me (no class July 23rd!!!)

– August 13,20,27: also 6pm intermediate, and 8.15pm beginner level by me (no classes on the 6th!)

Share house back yard in Suginami, chatting about writing ‘shibari/kinaku’ in Japanese. Using the sound or the meaning alphabet? Fabrice wants to see the Kanji symbols, and figures it consists of the parts ‘person who obeys to’ ‘kin’ – the tension, and than there is the ‘rope’ symbol. He likes to interpretate the princess idea into it, but its not working. Yoshiko keeps correcting him and goes on weaving an earing with a golden thread. Its more complicatd and my brain shuts off. The sun is coming around. Keith finished house cleaning and we are ready for lunch.

In the restaurant, when you’re full, the waiter can suggest 別腹, the ‘other stomach’. Not the one for hunger, but for sweets.

Shibari beginner class October 9 + 30

Tuesday evening class for beginners still open to newbies!
October: 9 + 30, 2018 (not on the 23rd!)
Hours: 8.15pm – 10.15pm

Topics of the class are floor work and introduction to half- and/or full-suspension technique. You need to know basic shibari, firm column ties and any suspendable box tie -> takatekote/gote.

We look closely at the tension of harnesses and test if they are suspendable. Lock-off techniques for half-/suspension, up-lines on a ring, and in the second step on bamboo.
The material also contains: safety principles like friction and tension, pain management for the model, and sculpting the body in the air.

We recommended to attend this class with a partner, if you don’t have a partner, or if you are not sure about the level please contact us.

Welt ohne Aussen – Berliner Festspiele

From July 25 – 30 performing with Peter Frost and his group Le Frau. Wrestling with special guest Anna Konda from Marzahn and her fem fight club. Ludmilla Skripkina reviving the feminist Russian revolution at Martin Gropius Bau.
Looking much forward to rope, dance, bewitch you!

The exhibition “Welt ohne Außen” features art works spanning from the late 60s to the present day, together with live works and workshops. For the first time, Gropius Bau is issuing passes that will give permanent access to the exhibition and all its activities, inviting visitors to explore all facets of the show and to actively participate in the daily workshop programme.
